ponies will bite you! fuses pop sensibility, folk riffs, and classical violin, with playfully introspective lyrics for a genre-straddling singer-songwriter taste on the lighter side of angst.

The Stars and Moon is their second EP, released in 2014. It was recorded at the Converse Rubber Tracks recording studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Argyle is their debut EP released in early 2013.

Janet Kim (violin/guitar/vocals) A classically trained violinist, this Harvard grad jumped ship to gritty folk music, Dave Matthews Band covers, and Bonnaroo jam bands when she moved to NYC after college. She’s performed and recorded with an eclectic mix of musicians in the New York music scene, but likes ponies will bite you! better than any other band ever. She’s ecstatic to include two of her own original songs on the Argyle EP.

Shawn Forno (guitar/vocals/lap steel) His clever quirky songwriting, easy vocals, and self-taught guitar style lend ponies! a storyteller feel. He still can’t play a love song without cracking a smile. A former Southern California surf-instructor, when he’s not writing or traveling the globe, he calls Brooklyn home.
